Willamette Salad

This salad reminds us of long drives in the foggy Pacific Northwest. The combination of sweet berries and savory nuts makes this the perfect transition from summer to fall.


SALAD

2 cups spring mix

1/8 cup blackberries

1/8 cup walnuts

1/8 cup feta cheese (optional)

DRESSING

1/2 oz extra virgin olive oil

1/2 oz CHC Blackberry Cacao Nib Orange Peel Shrub

1 pinch salt

Mix dressing in a separate bowl. Add to dry ingredients before serving and toss briefly.

Made with a base of organic blackberries from Stehly Farms in Valley Center, CA. We macerate the berries with organic cacao nibs and the peels of fresh organic oranges for up to one week. The result is a rich and complex shrub packed with jammy berry notes. Especially delicious with gin and mezcal, or drizzled on vanilla yogurt and ice cream.

For Cocktails: Add ½ oz shrub to 2 oz spirit plus soda or citrus

For Shrub Sodas: Mix ½ oz shrub per 6 oz bubbly water

Ingredients: Organic Blackberries, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Cacao Nibs, Organic Orange Peels, Smoked Salt.
