Oxnard Salad
Fresh berries and goat cheese, always a good decision. When tossed with fresh spinach, pecans and our Strawberry Cascara Ginger Shrub you’ve got yourself a bitchin seasonal lunch.
SALAD
2 cups baby spinach
1/8 cup strawberries, sliced
1/8 cup pecans, chopped
1/8 cup goat cheese, crumbled (optional)
DRESSING
1/2 oz extra virgin olive oil
1/2 oz CHC Strawberry Cascara Ginger Shrub
1 pinch salt
Mix dressing in a separate bowl. Add to dry ingredients before serving and toss briefly.
Made with a base of organic strawberries from Stehly Farms and Be Wise Ranch in San Diego, CA. We macerate the berries with fresh organic ginger root and dried cascara (“cascara” is the cherry-like fruit that contains the coffee bean) for up to one week. Bright strawberry notes are complemented by roasted tamarind notes from the cascara. Delicious with all spirits, although we especially enjoy this shrub with rum, tequila, and whiskey.
For Cocktails: Add ½ oz shrub to 2 oz spirit plus soda or citrus
For Shrub Sodas: Mix ½ oz shrub per 6 oz bubbly water
Ingredients: Organic Strawberries, Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Ginger Root, Organic Cascara (Coffee Cherry Tea), Salt.
